Maciej Kopytko

Maciej graduated from Jagiellonian University, Krakow, Poland in 2008 with a master’s degree in pharmacy. Prior to his laboratory career, he worked 10 years as a community pharmacist, both as a pharmacy branch manager and locum pharmacist providing pharmaceutical care to his patients and offering NHS commissioned services, including Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) service. He was also involved in naturopathic remedies and nutritional supplements business and undertook additional training in these fields.

Following his passion for biomedical science and his growing interest in laboratory diagnostics and antimicrobial therapy, he decided to start a new career as a laboratory scientist at Nationwide Laboratories in Staffordshire in December 2018. Having gained experience in the microbiology department and developed new skills working alongside microbiology consultants and senior laboratory scientists, he joined Focus Medical Diagnostics in September 2020 dedicating his full attention to diagnostics of urogynaecological infections.
