About our kits
Our home UTI testing kits contain everything you need to take your samples, including a pre-paid envelope to return them to us in. Depending on the test kit you select, it will include genital swabs, a kit for sampling your urine, or both.
Unlike traditional testing protocols, we recognise that microbes present in levels of less than 100,000 CFU per ml urine which may still cause significant symptoms.
We look at the full picture and evaluate your urine sample with a detailed urinalysis, detailed microscopy looking for red blood cells, white blood cells, epithelial cells (bladder lining cells), crystals, and casts. We also perform Extended Quantitative Urine Culture (EQUC) and liquid broth extraction cultures.
Once we have identified the bacteria present, we will test them against a wide panel of antibiotics and produce a report indicating bacterial susceptibilities and resistances to antibiotics. Your results will be sent to the email address provided directly and if you have requested an additional advisory letter this will be sent directly to your GP or Specialist.
Symptoms of ear infection include pain, itching, irritation and a feeling of pressure within your ear; you may notice redness of the ear or ear canal, swelling, scaly skin and sometimes there is a discharge which can range from clear and watery to thick pus-like coloured yellow, brown, green or blood tinged.
Symptoms of a sore throat and pain when swallowing are most commonly caused by a viral infection which will resolve naturally with time. However, some cases of sore throat or tonsillitis are caused by bacterial infection and occasionally require treatment with antibiotics.
Group B Strep is a type of streptococcal bacteria which 40% of people have in their vagina / genital or anal area where it does not cause any issues. Current guidance states that this is of little significance in non-pregnant women when isolated on vaginal swab tests.

How our kits work:
All tests are shipped using first class post, and dispatched the same day if ordered before 1pm. Shipping is free to the mainland UK.
Our packaging is discreet, and your order will be displayed as FMD LTD on your credit or debit card statement.
Follow the instructions in your test kit. Enclose your sample in the prepaid envelope to return your sample to us for testing.
We test your samples in our state-of-the-art UK-based laboratory and identify any microbes or bacteria that might be causing your UTI.
It takes 7 days to thoroughly test your sample. The results of your test will be emailed to you within a further 3 working days, along with potential treatment options and next steps.
You should then be able to explore treatment options with your GP. If they can't help you, you can ask them to complete a referral form and for a small additional fee one of our expert doctors can provide an advisory letter based on your results.
